How stress is connected to weight gain
And why it’s not just about food.

Stress affects the body
When stress lasts for a long time, the body produces more cortisol. This can increase appetite, especially for sweet and salty foods, and make the body hold on to energy and water.
Sleep, hunger and cravings
Stress often means poorer sleep. After a short night, hunger hormones change, we feel hungrier and less satisfied, and choosing balanced meals becomes harder.
Emotional eating
Food can become a quick way to calm down or reward ourselves. That is human — but when it becomes the only way to cope, it can slowly affect weight and how we feel about ourselves.
What helps
Regular meals, enough protein, movement you enjoy, short pauses during the day and better sleep all lower the pressure. That is why at L’Harmony we work with nutrition, movement and mindset together.
